This Tuesday’s trip is to Cloughlea near Manor Kilbride in Wicklow. The Cloughlea river flows under a stone bridge here and cascades down a series of small waterfalls before joining the River Liffey; and St. John’s Church overlooks the river.
To get there take the N81 towards Blessington. After about 12km turn left onto the R759 (signposted for Roundwood, Manor Kilbride, and Sally Gap) just opposite a craft shop, Tramway Treasures and Crafts. After about another 2.5km turn left, staying on the R759, just before entering Manor Kilbride. The turn is signposted for Sally Gap and Roundwood. Follow the road for about 4km and you’ll come to the bridge on a sharp right bend and you’re there! There is some parking at the bridge and more around the corner near the church.
As parking there is limited we will meet at Molloy’s car park at 7:30pm sharp to car pool. And as usual keep in touch via the WhatsApp Outing group.
