TPS meeting – November 17th
This coming Tuesday, November 17th, we will continue our beginners’ photography course, the TPS Guide to Photography. Last time, we looked at the history and evolution of photography and then went on to see what makes a camera work. Then we examined the three ways that we control light with the camera: aperture, shutter speed and ISO. This week we’ll have a look at more camera functions and perhaps explore the extra kit and accessories a photographer might need.
The meeting takes place in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght and begins at 8pm sharp.
The Tallaght Photography Society were nominated for an award in the Arts and Culture category for this year’s Tallaght Person of the Year. Just to receive a nomination in this prestigious event is an incredible honour and we have received a certificate of nomination from the Tallaght Community Council who run the event. The TPotY awards ceremony takes place on Friday, November 20th at the Red Cow Pavillion.
Some of our members took part in shooting images at the Square Shopping Centre, Tallaght for a book of short stories based around shopping centres and shopping entitled Circle & Square. The book features stories, prose and poetry by Tallaght writing club, Platform One and some guest contributors and includes some of the images taken by TPS members at the Square. The official book launch of Circle & Square is taking place on Wednesday, November 18th at 6.30pm in the Tallaght Library. The launch will include an awards presentation by LUAS who helped sponsor the publication.
