Saltee Islands Trip and the Hellfire Club!

Avast me hearties!

This Sunday, June 7th, we set sail for the Saltee Islands in search of photographic treasures!  Our intrepid adventure will begin in Molloy’s car park on Sunday morning.

We must leave at 6.45am at the very latest as the boat leaves Kilmore Quay at 9am and it’s at least a 2 hour drive there.  If you’re not there by 6.45 you will miss the trip!  Please arrive early.

The sea be a cruel mistress so we recommend that you bring a plastic refuse bag to keep your cameras and equipment dry on the boat.  If the sea is choppy, waves may splash onto the boat.  Dress comfortably and bring a raincoat just in case but so far, the weather looks to be dry for Sunday.  Wear walking boots or wellingtons as you might have to get your feet wet getting off the boat onto the island.  Bring a packed lunch and something to drink – a flagon of rum, yarrgh!.  We will be on the island for about 5 hours and there are no shops or cafés on the island and also no toilets!  The boat should return at about 3pm to pick us up and bring us back to Kilmore Quay and then we head for home!

Our Tuesday club outing on Tuesday, June 9th is to the Hellfire Club on Montpellier Hill at the foot of the Dublin Mountains.  From here there is a terrific view of Dublin and if we’re lucky we may get to photograph a smashing sunset!

Meet in Molloy’s car park for 7.30pm on Tuesday evening and everyone is welcome!
