It is indeed, however I would not change it for any other as I have met some fantastic people here!
Q3 – What was your first introduction to photography as a photographer?
I was taking photos since little boy. Actually first camera I ever used was Soviet Zenit which had 3 diodes to indicate your exposure. However about age of 14 I dropped photography, and only came back to it in 2018 when was doing some event photography when was member of one of political parties. Real “breakthrough” however was March 2019 when I went snowboarding to Bulgaria and couple of ZOO visits after return after which I bought my first long telephoto lens.
Q4 – What camera(s) do you shoot with?
Nikon. Fist it was lowest end crop sensor model, and mid last year jumped almost all the way to the top shelf and swapped for full frame D850.
Q5 – Do you have a favourite subject to shoot?
Wildlife by far! And it is best way to calm down and forget about all the “real life” troubles than go out with camera and spend time in nature observing birds or other animals… and photos are just a bonus.
Q6 – Do you have a go to lens to shoot with?
My most used lens is Nikon’s 200-500mm f5.6. For a good while I was using Tamron’s 70-200mm f2.8 and found it really versatile “walkaround” lens. Lately been trying my strengths in macro photography and was using Sigma’s 105mm f2.8 macro lens paired with NiSi Close Up lens giving me x2 magnification.
Q7 – Which do you prefer your images to be in colour or black and white and why?
Colour… Simply because I never experimented much with B&W photography and I don’t have the “feel” for it.
Q8 – What makes an image stand out for you?
For my favourite subject that would be moment! If you manage to get some interesting action/interaction then you already miles ahead of any “boring” static shot. After that next would be lighting and composition.
Q9 – If you were to give yourself one piece of advice if you were starting out all over again. What would it be?
Buy Canon 😄
Q10 – If money or travel was no object where in the world would you like to photograph and why?
There is too many places! Wildlife would definitely be Arctic, Africa and South America for hummingbirds and other exotic species. For landscapes I would love Faroe Islands. For sports Le Mans endurance race.
