Dublin City Lights – Tuesday, December 16th

A change to the programme for Tuesday, December 16th as Peter Gordon, our scheduled guest speaker has had to cancel.  He is currently working on a new body of work and would be delighted to showcase this work to us at some point in 2015!

This gives us the opportunity to head into Dublin City Centre on Tuesday evening to photograph Dublin’s Christmas lights!  Meet at St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre entrance at 8pm on Tuesday evening.  We can head down Grafton Street towards Temple Bar and O’Connell Street taking in the festive atmosphere and getting shots along the way!

Be prepared for the weather and wrap up warm.  See you there!

Congratulations to member Dominic Murphy on winning the Water themed one shot competition in December.  Dominic has chosen Animals as the theme for January’s one shot.  The animals can be wild, domestic, pets, big, small – whatever you like!  Entries to be in for January 13th and will be judged by Dominic.  The owner of the winning image will then set the theme for February’s competition!

The Tallaght Photographic Society will then break for the Christmas holidays and return in the new year!

The 24th International TPS Salon of Photographic Art exhibition launch and prize giving ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 6th 2015 at the South Dublin County Library from 8pm.  It will feature photographs from entrants from all over the world as well as images from Irish and TPS photographers.  There will be refreshments and will be well worth attending.

We will be back at the Maldron Hotel on Tuesday, January 13th 2015 for a new season of photographic fun, guest speakers, competitions and more…

Until then, very best Christmas wishes and a very happy and prosperous New Year to all of our members and friends 🙂
