TPS Meeting 19th November 2019

All emailed entries must be in by 8pm. The filename of all digital entries must contain the following information   Member Number Division Title Category In the following format: Member Number-Division-Title-CategoryFor example:   12345-Advanced-Selfie-Mono Print Membership fees were due by the end of October.  Remember, if you have not fully paid up you will not be eligible to enter the Monthly League. End of Season!

Party and Awards It’s that time of the year again!! Time to party and find out the results of the League. On Friday 24th we will have our end of year party and prize giving ceremony in Molloys, kicking off at 20.30. There will be a change to “Photographer of the Year”. This year there will be a photographer of the year in each section – so 3 trophies. There will be prizes for the winners in each of the 3 sections of competition in Novice, Intermediate and Advanced divisions. Fridays party will be the highlight of the year and is always a great night so pencil it in to your diary!! One Shot We have a slight change to this month’s one shot. We will have it at the party. Please print your entry and bring it along on the night for Paddy to judge. The theme is “Composite Photo”. Tallafest We are looking for volunteers to organise a stall for TPS at Tallafest on 22nd June. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 7th May 2019

This Tuesday at our weekly meeting in the Maldron at 8pm we welcome Anthony Lynch. Anthony’s photographic interests lie in landscape and astrophotography. Rick Taylor will also be at the club on Tuesday to clean camera sensors. If you want to avail of this, bring your camera with battery fully charged. Cost will be €10 for a dry clean or €20 for a wet clean. I’m sure Rick will advise which is necessary. Upcoming events One Shot We have a sight change to this month’s one shot. We will have it in the night of the party on the 24th May. Please print your entry and bring it along on the night for Paddy to judge. The theme is “Composite Photo” 14th May Instead of a meeting in the Maldron on May 14th, Mark Pollock will lead a walkabout in Tallaght. This will afford members the opportunity to get to know the local photography spots and also take photographs to put forward for consideration for our 2020 Calendar. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 19th March 2019

This week at our weekly meeting in the Maldron Tallaght we are welcoming Adrian Hendroff to speak to us. Adrian is both a photographer and author of several guidebooks. We look forward to hearing about how he combines his love of photography and mountain walking. This week is also hand in night for our Monthly League. Please have your prints mounted and ready and your projected resized and named correctly. Instructions below: • Printed images must be presented on mounting boards no larger than 20×16 inches (51×41 cm). • All submissions should have a completed competition entry label affixed to the back. • Digital images should be submitted in jpeg format resized to 2,400 pixels on the longest side with a resolution of 240 dpi. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 12th February 2019

This Tuesday at our meeting Members Ollie O Flanagan and Karl Bergin will be giving demonstrations on Lighting for Portrait photography.  Ollie will be using the more mobile speedlights while Karl will be using the Clubs Bowen Light set up.   No need to bring cameras as this will be a demonstration and Q&A session.  We hope to get volunteer models from the attendees and show the differences between the light set ups onscreen… February One Shot  Tuesday is also One Shot night.  This month’s theme is “Emotions” and will be judged by Brenda Sheridan.  Bring your entries along on USB and hand them to Rosemary.  Brenda will Judge at coffee break. TPS Meeting Tuesday 5th December

This Tuesday our guest speaker is Peter Gordon. Peter is primarily a landscape & travel photographer. Peter has travelled far and wide with his photography from the streets of Jaipur to the Nevada desert at the Burning Man Festival. In 2013 and 2014 Peter was awarded, by the Irish Professional Photographers Association, Irish Professional Photographer of the Year, Landscape Photographer of the Year and Pictorial and Travel Photographer of the Year. Peter also won in 2013 Best Single Image in Landscape and Best Single Image in Travel and Pictorial.
