April 21st – League Entry and Guest Speaker, Gerry Andrews
Tuesday, April 21st is monthly league competition entry night. It hardly seems a month since the last entry night! Very best of luck to all entering.
We also have a very special guest speaker on Tuesday with Gerry Andrews FIPF, ARPS, AFIAP. Limerick born Gerry Andrews became interested in photography in the early 1970’s while working at The Limerick Leader newspaper. Gerry continued to take photographs throughout the 1970’s of life in Limerick before hanging up his camera in 1980 to focus on his career in printing. After a long an successful career in the printing industry, Gerry returned to photography in 2004 after the death of his wife. With an interest in social documentary and photojournalism, Gerry has traveled the world and has won numerous awards for his photography both nationally and internationally. The success in 2012 of an exhibition of his photographs taken in Limerick in the 1970’s, has led to the publication of his book, Shaped by History. See Gerry’s website for more details.
As usual, our meeting will begin at 8pm sharp at the Maldron Hotel in Tallaght.
